What to Expect at Your Free Pregnancy Test & Abortion Information Appointment

The moment you see a positive pregnancy test can feel like the ground shifts beneath your feet. Your mind may start racing with questions: What now? Who do I tell? What are my options?

If you’re facing an unexpected pregnancy, you don’t have to sort through those questions alone. Houston Pregnancy Center offers free, confidential support so you can get clear information and take your next step with confidence.

For the past 35 years, we’ve been offering a safe and non-judgmental place where you can learn about your pregnancy and explore your options, including abortion information, parenting, and adoption. Our goal is to equip you with accurate, up-to-date information so you can make the best decision for your life and your future.

A Safe, Confidential Environment

From the moment you walk through our doors, you will be treated with respect and compassion. All services are completely confidential and free of charge. Because our services are free, we do not bill insurance or notify any third parties. Your privacy is important.

Checking In for Your Appointment

When you arrive, simply check in with our receptionist and bring a photo ID. Appointments typically last about an hour, allowing enough time for testing, information, and conversation without feeling rushed.

What Happens During Your Appointment

Your visit begins with a medical-quality urine pregnancy test, which is up to 99% accurate. After your results are confirmed, you’ll meet one-on-one with a trained staff member who will:

• Explain your pregnancy test results
• Help estimate how far along you may be
• Discuss your pregnancy options
• Provide clear, factual abortion information
• Answer your questions in a pressure-free setting

Our role is not to tell you what to choose, but to ensure you have the resources needed to make an informed decision just as we have for over 40,000 women who have trusted us to give them accurate and up-to-date information about their pregnancy.

Ultrasound Services

Depending on how far along you are, you may be eligible for a complimentary ultrasound conducted by a Registered Nurse. An ultrasound can provide important details such as gestational age and help identify whether the pregnancy is developing as expected. This information can be especially helpful when considering your options.

Referrals & Ongoing Support

Sometimes an unplanned pregnancy is only one out of many challenges you’re facing. If you need additional support, we can connect you with trusted local resources, including:

• Medical care
• Housing or employment resources
• Parenting and material assistance
• Community services

There are so many agencies and organizations in the Houston area that are dedicated to helping you. You don’t have to navigate this on your own. If you live anywhere near Cypress/Katy, Champions/Spring, or Humble/Kingwood, we’re your go-to source for help meeting your needs.
